August summers in DC are hot, sticky, sometimes require showering a couple of times a day just to cool off. Deliciously cold bubble tea can also help significantly.
I had never been to Dupont Coffee Shop prior to my recent visit. My buddy and I each picked up a bubble tea - I went with the honeydew and he went with the taro. Both were great! The honeydew had the perfect amount of sweetness to it, balanced with the right amount of milk and bobas. Same with thing with the taro, but I liked the honeydew better.
It's very close to the Dupont Circle metro station, making it very accessible. If you're hungry they also have some food options featured on their menu. -

DuPont Coffee & Carry Out seems to be one of those hidden gem places that the locals go to for authentic Korean food and breakfast to-go. My sister and I came for some drinks and it was just A-ok.
DuPont is tiny and is hooked up to a business building. It doesn't exactly fit the area around it. I wish I could say it didn't bother me but I didn't feel at home or comfortable with a place that was part kitchen, part sketchy convenience store. It's not big enough to do everything they're trying to do and it shows.
The woman didn't notice us at first because there are so many random signs and appliances around the counter it's hard to see over. When she did see us we ordered a bubble tea and a frozen hot chocolate.
My sister's bubble tea was just fine, but she admitted she's had much better. She's not great at being critical so for her to say that is a lot. My frozen hot chocolate was super funky. It was chalky and not very chocolaty. I only drank a fourth of it before throwing it out.
I'm sure there are people that enjoy their food and drinks, otherwise it wouldn't be open for as long as it has been. I'm not a fan though and likely will not be back. -

This shop is extremely tight and tiny, with a couple seats for dining in, handwritten signs everywhere, peeled and curling paint, old and worn counters. Everything is simply dated.
There was only one employee visible working the register and preparing food and drink orders. My friend and I came in to order bubble teas. The service was very slow because the lady was by herself and was multitasking like I'd never seen before. She got our order correct, rung us up eventually, and was cheerful the whole time, which is pleasant. My lychee bubble tea tasted amazing---not too sweet, entirely refreshing, and a good portion size for about five bucks.
If time is of the essence, avoid this place during the lunch time rush. -

I tend to stop by when I want something quick and inexpensive. I come here for a latte, ice coffee, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, etc., and they seem to get the job done. No complaints when it comes to sausage, egg & cheese with a small salted caramel latte to go!
Good food, coffee, service. They are open daily and past working hours too. It's a very tight space, but pop in and out for something slight and you will be satisfied. -

My first time there was today. Friendly woman behind the counter. I ordered a taro bubble tea which was a little too sweet for my liking. Other bubble tea places I've been to give you an option to customize sweetness and ice levels. I guess they don't have those options here. The tea was delicious aside from the sweetness, until I kept finding chunks of plastic in it. Very strange. Upon further inspection, it seems that part of another plastic cup was blended into my tea. I sadly could not finish it. I heard a blender so I assume she used that to mix the ice (which might've had the plastic in it) with the tea. She prepared it out of my sight, so I'll never know. Too bad.
